As a non-profit organization, SML seeks to connect, educate and empower Latinas of the region. We recognize the power and potential the Latino community has in this country. We are also aware that women are the driving force of our community, making most of the decisions in our families. However, we often feel misrepresented or “unseen”.
During these hard times of the pandemic, we wanted to engage our community of women and bring something festive that help us feel represented and positive. This is why we came up with our version of the traditional Mexican Lotería (Bingo). Local artists have contributed with 54 images that represent the diversity of Latin women.
Using this fun game, SML is organizing its a Virtual SML Lottery on Saturday February 19th, 2022. This event particularly helps us raise funds to offer scholarships for the professional education of the Latinas in Washington.
